Job environment: Within the GVA Operations Department Uganda, the ISP Controller reports to the Head of ISP.
The position is based at GVA Uganda headquarters in Kampala.
Job responsibilities: The ISP Controller, he or she coordinates and controls customer connection operations (ISP) and after-sales service.
In the field, he or she ensures the implementation of the specifications and the rules of the art by the ISP teams as part of the connection and maintenance of customer lines to guarantee the construction and operation of customer lines in excellent technical conditions.
He or she ensures, in coordination with internal operational teams, other GVA departments, and service providers, that the organization, management method and performance of technical services are a factor of customer satisfaction.
Its main missions will be: Checks compliance with construction standards for customer lines Checks the optical quality of the customer lines built Checks the cleanliness of work inside the customer's home Monitoring and improvement of ISP performance indicators Checks the correct completion of the Intervention Reports by the technical teams Checks the proper use of equipment and tools by the technical teams Ensures the reporting to the Manager on compliance with construction standards for customer lines by the technical teams Participate in the acceptance and financial reconciliation of customer connection work Is proactive to ensure that customer lines are and remain in excellent technical conditions Checks compliance with safety rules Ensures that the personnel involved are authorized and sufficiently trained to carry out an intervention at height and near an electrical network Ensures compliance with safety standards, GVA's objective being ZERO ACCIDENT Checks the wearing of PPE by the connection teams Checks working conditions along the road: consistency of markings, presence of staff dedicated to slowing down or deviating from the road, compliance with parking rules Urgently escalates risky situations to his hierarchy and suspends work in the event of non-compliance with safety standards Coordinate the resolution of complex customer connection cases: Obtaining right of way and city council authorizations Carrying out feasibility studies (survey) for connections for B2B and VIP customers Coordination of exchanges with the design teams and other GVA departments in the context of non-standard connections Takes over from the ISP technician teams in communication with dissatisfied customers in the event of difficulties encountered in setting up the connection This job description is an indicative (but not exhaustive) document detailing the main tasks attached to the function.

Checks the proper execution of customer maintenance Follow-up of pro-active line quality maintenance, control and follow-up of repetitions of defects, Checks the effectiveness of diagnostic methods and resolution of ISP incidents by maintenance teams Management of customer line migration operations Checks the correct completion of the Intervention Reports by the technical maintenance teams Checks the correct use of equipment and tools by the technical maintenance teams Customer management Handling of customer complaints during installation and before installation Has capacity to do site survey for the customer needs Trouble shooting network issues that can be raised by clients Education, Requirements professional experience and skills required: Experience + / - 5 years in the execution of works in the telecommunications sector, infrastructure deployment (water, electricity, etc.), building or civil works Mastery of technical constraints related to fixed telecommunications networks and fiber optic networks in particular Higher education such as Engineering School, certificate diploma, University or Technical Diploma (specialization in Telecommunications, Civil Works, or Electricity) Driver's license Mastery of IT tools and the office pack Fluency in English Expected behaviours: Getting started and mastering GVA application tools Rigor, flexibility, creativity Ability to supervise a team Writing skills Exemplary and probity Customer orientation, and constant search for a job well done Autonomy, initiative, sense of organization and priorities Taste for analysis, synthesis and handling of tools Excellent interpersonal skills, quality of listening and negotiations In any place and at all times, convey and have conveyed by GVA employees and our approved partners, a positive image of GVA
